Weather of Dalhousie,Himachal Pradesh,India in Late Jan/Early feb ?

Hi,

Can any of you tell me how is the weather of Dalhousie,Himachal Pradesh and adjoining areas during Late January/ early Feb .

I think it snows there at that time.But does it gets disconnected by Road from Punjab / Other Himachal Areas due to Landslides /Heavy Snow too ?

Please do tell me .

It snows from December end onwards. There's plentiful of snow everywhere. Moving becomes tedious after snowfall. But usually the place doesn't get disconnected from other Places. Pathankot is the nearest major town and buses ply regularly even in winter season. But be prepared, if it snows heavy for a day or two the buses go upto Banikhet only. Banikhet is about 7 kms as the road winds up and down from Dalhousie. You may be forced to spend a day or two more in Dalhousie before the snow is cleared. ( military presence is heavy due to cantonment areas and they do clear the snow most of the times.)

But if you are interested in visiting Khajjiar, Kalatope sanctuary-- it's only possible if you walk those distances in winter season. No road transport. Most of the people in Kalatop areas leave their homes and come down to Pathankot areas or so.

But the weather is pleasant if there's enough sunshine in daytime. Nights are chillingly cold.

'THE WINTERS', in Jan and Feb, at Dalhousie, you will enjoy the 'season', if you are young, the beautiful weather,... the best hill station, built by the Britishers in their regime....., ask Tourist Department in Himachal Pradesh or at Delhi.
Weather of Dalhousie will very nice during jan/early feb. Heavy snowfall makes weather very chiilling and nice but roads are not disconnected .
